Hi! I'm Sarah. I'm a mom of two living in Topeka, KS. I actually live in the outskirts, XD, but it's pretty nice. Just got some snow yesterday, so it's worth being stuck without a vehicle (*bleep* totalled our second vehicle, so Hubs is taking my car to work every day).

This is my first year, and I hope it turns out better than NaNo did. I stopped after a week, because things kept getting in my way.

Anyways, behind the cut are some pictures of the supplies I just bought. Hopefully, the journal I got is big enough. I have a tendency to write a lot, :)

The notebook and the pens I just got. Notebook is actually at Walmart. It's got the big size (which I got), and a few smaller sizes. Smaller just wasn't thick enough for me, XD. I most likely will end up having to get a second before the year is up :)

Picture for an idea of how thick it is. I love the ribbon. I'll never lose what page I'm on, unless my kids get to it, XD.

A picture of the inside. I'd meant to center my name, XD, but forgot, so I just added my middle name.

Thanks. It was hard choosing one, XD. They had 3 super cute styles, but I decided to go with what matches how I want my new house (getting in March/April/May, hopefully), and our main colors are planned on being shades of blue and brown, and pinks and purples tossed in for my daughter (our son is up in the air, XD).
I hope I make it.

What I tell people about embodiment is that it's not about the goal but the journey, so whether you make it or not, I hope you have fun.

It's always hard choosing a journal for me, but this years journal was an easy choice as it spoke to me so clearly. :)

Your color scheme sounds very nice :) I hope your move is painless!

Hopefully I do at least accomplish something. That's my goal. Once a month, once a week, something to fill it up. That's the main goal: to fill up the journal. That's the biggest reason I got the bigger journals.

I usually have a hard time finding the right one. I found a moleskin (or similar) one that I wanted, but decided it was too small, and then immediately saw the one I ultimately chose.

Thanks. It's the only thing Hubs and I agree on, XD. Hopefully it is, but when is it ever?

That journal is awesome! I find having a journal you really love helps encourage you to write. Good luck and welcome to the community!

I'm gonna have to put it away, because it's going "write in me, write in me" and if I start too early, I'll definitely to get one before the year is out, ROFL.

1) Welcome! Have some cookies! And extra ones for your husband and kids.

2) o.O I'm buying my journal tomorrow, and I'm thinking I'm going to have to break out some loose pages because my journal will DEFINITELY be screaming "write me"

3) Hope you overcome the seductive siren call of The Journal. >_>

1. Oooh, cookies! I love cookies. Thank you, XD
2. I've got one that had some blank pages that'll last until Jan. 1st, hopefully
3. Thanks!! That call sure is strong, XD

I love ribbons in books and notebooks! (And deckle edges... I guess I'm kinda old-fashioned.)

That's a really cute journal.

I had to look up deckle edges, XD. I love those, but it wouldn't look right on this one, XD.

Thanks :)

As the mother of a teenager and wife for coming up 20 years, real life always interferes...What works for me is puting aside a specific time each day, in my case before everyone wakes, I refuse to race around getting things ready for the day ahead etc..this is my time...to journal to make artwork or just sit out on the balcony with a cup of coffee and watch the birds come into the fountain. Good luck with your commitment Janet

Thanks for the advice. I'm planning, hopefully, on doing it before bed, or while they're napping (they're 4 and 2), :) Mornings are so not a good time for me, XD

I have different kinds of that journal, I have a hummingbird one and one with lipstick prints on it.
I bought a couple of each, one meant to journal in and the other I use for stationary since they're tear out pages.
What kind of pens are those?

The ones with silver are Zebra GR8 Gel. The ones with white are BIC uni-ball Signo :)

this is my first time trying this too...and like you, nano didn't work so well for me either haha. i think i wrote a page or two the first day and then just stopped. and i was so determined to succeed this year so that's why i'm a little scared about this project. hopefully i'll keep it up - & i wish you the best of luck!
