Hello, lovelies!
Starting January 1, I am going to create my Happy Book to share with my therapist, and to keep up with all year (and beyond, hopefully). I want to have a personal manifesto, a list of things that make me happy, make me happy, a list of things I like about myself, things I want to change, my bucket list, etc. etc.
I'm having a hard time finding a journal I want, though... I've been looking through Target and Moleskine, and EVERYWHERE... I'm just wondering what your favorites are so I can keep shopping! Thanks :)

I also recommend getting one that is sturdy... my current journal is 600 pages, but it's leather and it's often hard to write in without a clipboard or something underneath to support it.
I'm having a hard time choosing a new journal for January 1st as well, I have plenty of unused journals in my collection to choose from.
Good luck finding one you like. :0)
Good luck!
Second - How is that personal manifesto going? How are you going about that? I am supposed to be writing one as well for my personal and spiritual journey, and I just...I truly don't understand how to begin. I would love to hear your take on it.

A Moleskine sketchbook, with one page removed from the center of each signature, makes a great notebook for pasting in things. The pages are heavy enough to take the weight.
Otherwise, I'd say a regular Moleskine, just because they are convenient to carry around.
I like the idea of things you like about yourself, too. That would be a helpful list of me to make as well.
I think the type of journal you choose is going to depend on whether it's going to be just writing, or include drawing, painting, or things pasted in, and of course size matters if you want to carry it with you. What I'm using for mine (started in October) is an awesome little 3x3x1 inch hardcover with thin pages. I like the tiny format so if I want to put just one thing on a page, I can. Good luck with your search and your journaling!
What was the Happy List comm? I've never heard of it. I may just start one... Hm...
I managed to find the old one I was thinking of:

If you start one, I will definitely join. There might be an active one and I'm just not searching for the right key words.
I found a journal at Marshalls for $4.99 this morning. It has a quote on the front by Emerson: "Make the most of yourself, for that is all there is of you."
I thought it was perfectly fitting!
Very cool! I wouldn't have thought of Marshalls as a place for journals, and that's a good price, too!
I may work on the community tonight depending on how my thing goes with mission 101! Let me know via PM or something if you'd like to be involved :)
I've got too much on my plate right now to help co-mod or anything, sadly, but I will definitely join and do my best to help pimp it out!
