I've found it difficult to write and my paper journals have suffered for it. I've returned to writing but it's slow going and it's like I'm starting all over again. I've made progress since the 29th of August though, writing several pages, getting back into the habit of talking to myself with a pen again.

This morning I typed on the computer about dreams I had and managed over 800 words! Perhaps writing the mindless stuff in my paper journal is helping to move me forward? I'm not sure but I'm just happy to write, ya know?

Hopefully I'll be filling out postcards again soon, writing poems and able to make it through the rest of this paper journal (#34) before November. I really want to start a fresh journal for when I travel to Italy.

So, I'm writing worse than I did as a teen but honestly, I'm grateful to be writing anything at all.

You're doing better than me because I haven't written since March! I'd start writing again but I'm the type of person who has to write about everything that's happened, and that includes the things since March. And if I do start writing I don't think I'll ever finish so I'm just putting it off. Darn procrastination.

Maybe you could do it in point form? Make a list and catch up that way? If you try that, you could still cover some things and not get any further behind, not have that block preventing you from writing?

Oooh that's a great idea! I'm going to try to do that soon when I figure out the important things to write! :)

That's the ticket - keep on going!

I love the phrase you used: Talking to myself with a pen.

I think it's wonderful how you keep your journals. I used to be more expressive and paste in things and just write better as well but it's been a struggle for the past few years to even write in it. I'm starting to get back into it, slowly.

I go through lulls in writing, too. Glad that you are keeping at it! (And thanks for including pictures! Love handwritten journals!)

sporadic writing, yep. I wish that I would be more consistent but ah well, maybe I will become more regular in my writing again soon. I'm trying at least! & thanks for looking!
