introduction

Hello, I've been meaning to introduce myself on this community for awhile. I've been too busy admiring everyone else's posts to do it. My name is Maria and I've been journaling since I was 15 years old. My journals are my best friends. They get told about my daily life and the major events that happen to me.
My family says I have an addiction to them since I have over 30 that still need to be filled. Not many seems to understand the reasoning behind why I love to write so much. I've had many people on occasion ask me if I was doing homework or why I love doing it. The answer was always simple.
I just love it.
I show this love in two ways....
One) my facebook timeline actually keeps tracks of the journals I have finished. Even has pictures with them
and Two) my youtube channel, riri1148, is basically a channel dedicated to me talking about my journals.
I enjoy the fact that I'm not the only that loves to journal. I'm really happy to be part of such an awesome community.

Hello! Welcome to the community.
I mostly write in my journals (I don't paste things in or draw), so I don't share pictures of my journals often (except for pictures of the covers, especially when I'm trying to pick out the next journal I want to use). I, too, have several unused journals at home (it really is an addiction!).
I'll check out your YouTube channel soon. :0)

I appreciate your journal collecting (some would say hoarding); books are such wonderful things. When you find one that is the right weight or has pages laid out beautifully, or where the lines are spaced perfectly, or when the cover is just beautiful, it's hard to resist them. (Or if the pages smell good... I am an afectianado of paper.)

I realized last night that journaling was not an "extra" for me; it's an intregal part of life, just as food might be. Writing is woven into the way I work, the way I process information, the way I learn, the way I capture my own emotional scraps before they get lost. I must have a journal (at least one) with me at all times; it is how I process the world. I have a correlating pen obsession, which has me stuffing every bag I own with pens just in case I miss one. (Which, since I also keep them in my journals, is unlikely--but what if someone wants to borrow a pen?! Sometimes they are not given back.) writing is not optional; it's integral for me. I remember as a child thinking, "if I didn't have language, I would not be able to think. This may sound strange for a visual artist, but I have no inner eye. I think in auditory words, most effectively on paper. Not everyone understands this.

I got behind in reading my favorite blogs so I apologize for the very late welcome note from me! Welcome to the community and thank you for introducing yourself. I look forward to seeing lots of posts by you in the future. Thanks for pointing out your YT channel where you talk about journaling- I'm probably going to watch all your journal related videos, for sure.
