Pink Moleskine Flip (21:18)

Cross posted to The Nerd Journals. I had a weird week and have been a little quiet the past few days but today I was excited to finally test out my new camera and record a flip through of my most recently completed journal.

I continue to be so surprised at all these journaling videos on YouTube. I didn't think anyone wrote anything by hand anymore!

I'm not sure I can ever go back to hand-writing journals. I've become so used to getting my thoughts out immediately as I'm typing. I've tried a couple of times through the years and even if I try to write quickly, by the time I get part of it down, I really do lose my train of thought. (Maybe I'm just old, LOL!)

But I had the idea of perhaps keeping a book reading journal. It would give me a topic to write about, and it wouldn't have to be as long or open-ended as just writing day to day things. (My life is so boring that there's really nothing worth writing in that regard.)

Anyway, I'm just thinking out loud here. Thanks to you and to everyone else who has been inspiring me lately. Even though I love all things digital and I even love typing itself, it's wonderful to know that people still do write by hand!

I think the joy of writing by hand is that it is slower, it gives me time to think about and consider what I want to say and what words I want to use to properly describe my emotions and events. It's much more intimate than just pushing out 90wpm.

I've recently taken to keeping notes on books I'm reading in my journal as a reference for reviewing the book later on GoodReads so maybe you can combine your desire for keeping a hand written journal and typing your thoughts quickly (on GoodReads).

I'm so thankful that you're here and watching our videos, looking at our journal pictures. It's so nice to have a fresh eye from someone who doesn't do what we do. I hope to see you commenting a lot and maybe even posting something here for us to see. :) Maybe a post about the pros of keeping a journal digitally instead of a handwritten journal.

Thanks! As soon as I'm able, I'm going to be looking for book journals. If I just use a plain notebook, I don't think I'll keep up with it. If I have something specifically for that purpose, I know I'll be more motivated.

Omg! Another BFF penal couple started by embodiment. Dragonfly52585 and I found each other through this comm. We did a journal exchange, and realizes we liked each other so much we became pen pals. And now we are the best of friends. Yay for journaling bringing people together!!!

Your "winter is coming" page made me guffaw! Seriously guffaw.

She came out to meet me in April of 2013. Then I went to visit her and her family in August of 2013. Then she brought her family back out here this last June. So, we are definitely apart of one another's real lives in addition to the journaling, the letters, the texting, the embodiment ing, etc. :)

Ahh that's so fabulous. I'm so glad it worked out for you two and that you fell in friend love and met and kept in touch. It's really quite beautiful.

I've never met an online friend or a penpal before but honestly I don't think I want to. :o Is that a little shocking in this day and age when Internet friends meet (and couples meet & marry?!) after knowing each other online? Maybe I'm a bit biased because my mother married a man she met on the Internet, a man who I didn't really like. I don't want to meet the people I know online or through letters because I fear it will spoil that perfect picture I have of them in my head, and I'm scared I won't like them if I meet them in real life. Not to dump my fears on you but it all sort of rushed out. Sorry. :/

I have met several of my online friends. But only after a very long time. One was after a decade. Dragonfly was after 4 years. And most recently a Canadian friend after 13 years. I think because !dragonfly and I shared journals with one another, our friendship grew faster. The other two people were from a message board.

I have been very blessed with my real-life encounters with online friends. But it definitely isn't for everyone. Though, for me, I'm grateful every day for Dragonfly. Thank goodness for the internet bringing us together. :)

So this video is the first one I've watched about journaling. Lol im so behind! But I just don't do a lot of YouTube or other internet videos of any kind, so it's not surprising that I missed this awesomeness. But no more! I loved this! I will have to go back and watch some more!

I loved the pocket idea and will totally be using that in my next journal... :)

I'm also gonna find you on goodreads!

And I love the dragon verses a moose thing... Lol

And I'm so glad to hear that journaling has brought another set of friends together. :) savanahjann and I met right here in embodiment. She is a huge part of my life now and as she said, we've been back and forth across the country to see each other. :) seeing her in person after sharing journals for so long just solidified her beauty and greatness as a real person to me. I don't know what I'd do without her in my life.
Us heading to pikes peak in CO on my first trip out to see her. She's pretty awesome. ;)

I'm so flattered that mine was the first you watched. :) I'll be working on a list of my favorite journaler/planner users on YouTube soon so keep an eye open for that. I'm so happy about you & SavannahJan- you two sound like a true match made in heaven. (Also y'all sort of look like you could be sisters!)

Lol!! It's funny that you said that! We've had a lot of people say that after seeing this photo and others from that trip. I had met another penpal while there (ironically in the same town as savanahjann but no connection to her.) we all went to dinner together one night and got a photo of all three of us. Everyone said we all three could have been sisters. It was so strange bc id never known them other than through letters, etc. until then.
