Flip of a 2007 Journal

I dabbled in journaling off and on before I resolved to keep a journal regularly. This is a flip through of a journal I kept very briefly in 2007. I feel kind of sad putting it back on my shelf of completed journals when it's so empty and unused so if you have any suggestions as to how I could repurpose it, I would love if you would comment and share those suggestions.

Fill it up with quotes? Movie lists? TV lists? You could make it a list journal! Just to fill it up.

Oooh a list journal! I've never kept one of those before. If you ever feel like making a post with list suggestions I'd totally love to see it and let the community add to it as a group. :D

It's so sad, isn't it? Thanks for letting me know what you do with yours, it's going to help me make a decision regarding what to do with my own.

I've done that, usually it was because something bad/traumatic happened and I wanted to start fresh. But here are are two things I eventually did:

I've used the remaining pages as kind of a "new" journal... I would never write on or on the back of any of the older written-on pages. In fact, I would skip one page after the most recent entry and then start there to leave the old pages untouched. It always felt SO weird when there were so many years in between but then it became very interesting to see how different I was. I could feel the time in many ways. Sometimes I've started with things from that day (you could start with "I've been trying to find a way to repurpose this journal..."), others I've given a sort of recap of what happened to me after the last entry and memories. Like the first entries were the main story and the new stuff was "Where am I now?"... Kinda like those TV shows that have a reunion show ten years later and you see "where are they now?" Which I wish they would do with Friends... You could even divide the remaining pages into "years" from then to now and fill the pages with recaps and memories of major events of those years. Another thing that's a bit weird is to see the change in handwriting and journaling style... I changed my handwriting quite often before settling on the one I have now as my "main" one so it was really weird to see how wildly different my style and writing was in comparison!

I've also used the remaining pages for collaging and scrapbooking things that I had from the time that I was writing it. For example, if I left off the journal before a traumatic incident, I'll stick things like the police report, therapy group pamphlets, etc. Or if I had things from a birthday/holiday/event from that year, I'd stick it in (or a photo of it... Google image can be a wonderful source for things like that if you don't own them anymore).

Eh, sorry this got long...

I'm watching Friends for the first time right now, I thought I might as well since it's on Netflix. I'm on Season 2 right now, it's ok. Not my favorite but I definitely see why it appeals to so many people! I'll probably finish up the series just to say I saw it.

Thanks for your long and helpful post. I'm definitely still thinking about how I want to treat this abandoned journal so I appreciate your input.

I didn't care a whole lot for the first few seasons, but the last three seasons are my favorite.
