Project Life Journal

I really like the concept of Project Life (here, if you've never heard of it), but the idea of two separate memory keeping projects is a bit daunting to me. So I do a fusion of journaling and project life as you can see from these couple of pages near the end of my current journal. I keep everything in whatever book I'm using at the time and add whatever I want to it (photos and journal cards, etc.) instead of keeping it in it's own exclusive project life scrapbook folder.

I like this idea. :) I used to scrap book all the time but I found that I was always doing one more than the other... So I combined the two into my journals. :) it's been working pretty good over the years and it's nice to have pictures to go with the events I wrote about.

I love seeing snapshots of your life when you share journal pictures!

Every time you have mentioned Project Life in a post, I have gone to the webpage and read about it. And I just don't get it. I guess I don't understand what makes it so much better/easier than scrapbooking, etc.

But the pages look cool, I suppose?

I agree that it would be daunting to do that /and/ journal. I think you have a good balance. :)

Project Life is pocket scrapbooking- no adhesive, glue, tape or whatever necessary (but can be used if you want to get fancy). You just slide your photos and journal cards into pockets and you don't even have to worry about color coordinating if all of your journal cards come from the same set because they are designed to match. I like to call it the lazy person's scrapbook style.

That was a much better explanation than the link. Thank you!

Really nice! I did Project Life last year, and I got, uh, behind. I do still like the concept, but I think I like the writing part more. I'm glad that I'm not the only person on LJ who's heard of it before!

I definitely like the writing part more, too!

Oh Project Life! I've always liked that there was a simplified way of scrapbooking for people who simply don't have the time. It's not my thing personally, I like to explode all over my paper so those poor little cards just wouldn't make it, but I love the idea and I love the little cards that you can buy. Kind of funny, I was wondering where you got the strips that say "Hell" on them before I realized it was "Hello", oops!

Also looking forward to seeing your current journal! I want to know how the paper and cover held up and how the paper held the glue and tape and ink! :D
