Current Journals

Here are my current journals. (Spiritual journal not pictured).

The Comcast journal is where I am documenting my struggling with "unplugging." I write in there about what's working, what's not, how it feels, etc.

The big black & white one is just my personal journal. It is going really well. I'm enjoying it. And I'm making good progress. I'm just over a quarter through it.

The orange comp book is my movie journal. Keeping track of all movies I watch.

The obnoxiously floral one is my "blush" book. I'm not sure it is a good one for me to keep. I thought it would help with some stuff, but it has become a venue for me to be really negative. Not sure I can keep it going.

Any of you keeping multiple journals?

What a great looking group of journals! I can only handle one at a time myself :)

What is "unplugging"?

Unplugging is me getting off my phone more often. So I set a rule: no phone after 9pm. Just because it has become an addiction and I'm tired of my phone ruling over me.

That's an admirable goal. Best of luck with it! I can totally relate to being tired of these damn phones that seem to be taking over every aspect of life these days.

Sort of. I have my regular journal and I also use a Hobonichi Techo planner.

Nice! I only keep one (very disorganized) journal at a time.

"...movie journal. Keeping track of all movies I watch."

Oh, that's brilliant. I love movies and never thought about keeping a journal for the ones I watch. Might nab that idea from you. :-)

I'm another that only has the one journal. I did try keeping a separate book journal but in the end, I just kept adding notes about the books I was reading to my regular journal. I do have a smaller notebook next to my bed to use as a dream journal.

Here are my current journals. The clairefontaine up front is my daily journal (what I did today, how I plan to take over the world, etc.) the green spiral clairefontaine is for my novel and short story projects, the red one beneath it is for work (teaching) projects. The blue Rollbahn is for poetry, the red one is for more novel ideas, and the large orange Rhodia is for the actual fiction writing if I think I have the ideas to work with from the other notebooks.. The art journal at the top is a Moleskine. I also have a small (really small) Moleskine that serves as a beer journal when I go to bars.
My midori has my handmade inserts, the white one for day-to-day bullet lists, supplemented with quotes or paper junk I find during the day. As the semester progresses I will trash the older pages with taped on bits, ink washes, etc. The duct tape / electricians tape notebook is for notes and lists, and the little Apica is for fragmented thoughts that come to mind during the day that I'll think I might use in the other notebooks. Yes, I'm addicted😱

I keep a few, too! I also keep track of every movie I watch/see in theatres, as well as a prayer journal, a line-a-day 5-year journal, a dream journal, a books read journal, and, of course, my day-to-day main journal.
