First ever journal!

Just pulled this one out of the milk crate in the basement due to a post on r/journaling. Thought the community here would appreciate some pictures!

I was six when I started writing in this. I probably got it for my sixth birthday. The cover is puffy to the touch.

I would have printed my name when I first started, and then added the cursive when I learned it. At some point in between, I think, I added my last name.

First entries.

Some of the pages have ripped out, so I stapled them together. Not sure when I numbered the pages. The letters in the left entry are a record of which capital letters I had learned in cursive. (Note that W is not on the list, so the W in the entry is printed while the rest is textbook cursive.)

The "notebook" is what I now consider my first "real" journal, a spiralbound like all the rest. It was pretty derivative of Abby Hayes's writing style at first! This is one of the last entries. (The very last entry is from the next year, by my then eight-year-old sister who apparently took it and tried to start her own diary.)

I had a journal when I was 6, but don't have it anymore. It's cool that you still have that.

Love this! I have my old journals too but I want to burn them because my English was so bad back then. :)

I didn't start my journaling until I was 36 or 37!
