An Old Journal - Week at a Glance Style

This is a very old journal page of my mothers. And I remember that exact week, amazing! It was 1961 and my Dad got paid every month, he was a Fire Warden at the time. I think I was about six years old.
Saturday June 3rd - I remember her crying and crying. We were so broke and waiting for that check. It took him 4 days to get another one. Oh the memories that a journal can bring back!

Your mother accidentally put your dad's paycheck through the wash? Is that what the entry means? oh dear...

What a treasure it is for you to have something like this. We haven't got anything like this in my family, except an essay or two my dad wrote for college.

Oh yes I see that now. I know she went back and referenced her diary a lot so I am sure the exact day was important to her.

Also, how neat is it that you can remember that week when these entries were written?

Oh yes, that was a traumatic week! It was odd I found that page with the second turn though.

You are most welcome! Yes my sis had put them all on a CD for me, gave it to me and I could not find it for a few weeks. I found it yesterday :)
