My Journals

My shelf of journals. It represents hours of enjoyment and the quest for the 'perfect' journal.I have tried lined and plain, white, cream, black and multicoloured paper. I have tried spiral bound, plain bound, loose bound and handmade, A4, A5 and square. I have finally come to the conclusion that what I need in a journal is one with moveable plain and lined paper that is thick enough to stop ink bleeding through but not so thick that I fill the journal too quickly. A5 is probably the best journal size for me but a journal that expands to A4 and shrinks again would suit me fine.
I have just bought a journal from the Arc range from Staples and am hoping that it might be the 'perfect' journal but I think that I quite enjoy the search for the perfect journal and so a little bit of me would be disappointed if it actually was 'the one'

Beautiful! I like the charms you have dangling from some of the spines :) How long a timeframe do these journals span?

It's lovely to see such an eclectic collection  :) mine is similar, I always choose my next journal on a whim and it's fun to have different types if you ask me

The journals date from 2007, apart from one very early diary from 1976. I love starting a new journal and if I have one bad habit it is rushing the final pages of a journal so that I can start a new one. Some of the last pages of my journals can be a little scrappy!

What a beautiful shelf of books! You have inspired me to pull my old journals out of my junk drawer and display them proudly on a shelf in my studio. I can't wait to see what they look like all standing next to each other. :D
