I was amused at the bag because I kep imagining an emergency and someone frantically looking for a first aid kit. They see yours on your table at a coffee house, and grab it. And when they open it, you get this WTF?! Look from the person, and you just sit there innocently enjoying your drink, and you have this innocent "what?" Look. *laugh*

Acrylic paint would work, but I suspect it would always be flaking off. What about spray painting it? Not sure if that would be much better. Sharpies are good for covering that kind of fabric. But less ideal for making it beautiful again. You could cover it in duct tape. They have so many patterns now. :) I don't really have any good ideas because I'm not the crafty type. Good luck figuring it out, and I can't wait to see the finished product.

Ahh these are all really good suggestions! I'm still sooo wanting to do acrylic paint- what do you think of a layer of Mod Podge over it? Would that cease any paint chip flaking, ya think? I've never worked with such a weird fabric before so I'm trying to do some research before I fuck it up. :D

Edit: Oh and your coffee shop scenario made me cackle aloud. Does that make me a bad person to giggle at someone's misfortune while I journal away and mind my own business?

Edit 2: That would make an amazing journal entry.
