Disagree. Especially these:

-Write in recollection and amazement for yourself
-Scribbled secret notebooks, and wild typewritten pages, for yr own joy

So many people have a hard time conquering a blank page. There's this fear of not writing well enough, even though you may be the only person who ever sees it. Write in recollection and amazement, write for yr own joy.

Whether or not you like his writing, Kerouac is an important part of American canon. I find his advice inspiring, and I'm glad it was posted.

thank you-I like Kerouac's approach to writing-do not agree with his ethics-I think Kerouac's letters are the best place to start when reading his writings-he was an interesting American writer-he had his place in American Letters-but I would not consider him a great writer-but interesting.
