SCOTUS Ruling Entry

Hey there. I just thought it would be fun to have a themed post where we all share pics of our entries about the Supreme Court's ruling about gay marriage. Regardless of what you thought about the decision, it is a pretty historical decision.

I'm not doing this to start any deep, dark political discussions in the comm. But I created an entry about this in my journal, and it was pretty obnoxiously rainbow, so I thought I'd share. And then I thought that I bet a lot of you did the same, and I'd love to see what you did.

I wrote many more pages after that, but it was just text written in the colors of the rainbow. :)

I look forward to seeing some of yours.

No pictures showing :(

I didn't write more than a few lines to be honest, but I wrote more when it became legal in my own country. Actually, last night's entry became more about the US expecting congratulations from everyone else when they do something. But that's a different thing entirely.

I feel I should edit: It's not that I don't consider it important. It's hugely important, a massive victory. I think there's just a lot on my Facebook feed about how "progressive" the US is now and ignoring the fact that Eire, for example, were the first country to vote on it and not rely on government to decide for everyone.

Huh. I didn't see anything about us being progressive. Mostly it was posts like you said: it's about time, 'Merica!

Thanks for the heads up on the pic. Hopefully it is fixed now.

I see the pic now :) All rainbows :)

I nearly deleted the comment after posting it. I don't want to take away the celebration of what happened, it's probably just my circle on facebook. I unfriended a few right after the announcement so I guess I'm just touchy about it! I keep thinking I've thinned out all the bigots, but they keep appearing.

By the time I had gone through the huge range of emotions involved in the announcement, my journal only got about 3 lines. Maybe I should give the decision more reflection time this week!

I haven't written about it at all. I'm glad they legalised gay marriage in the US, but I live in the Netherlands and we've had gay marriage for a while now (Also, I was pretty busy with finishing and handing in my MA-thesis so I had very little time to write).

The page is supercute, by the way!
